  4. Mitchell et al: WPBA poor at detecting trainees in difficulty – formative role emphasised

  5. 3 satisfactory OSATS = competence, NOT mastery/expertise

  6. Formative = SLEs (CbD, mini-CEX, OSATS) – NOT in ARCP. Summative = AoPs (OSATS) – IS in ARCP

  7. Feedback structure: what went well / what could have gone better / learning plan (adapted Hattie & Timperley)

  8. At least 2/3 competence assessments must be by a consultant
